This allowed me to run dry fire drills more easily and master the recoil of the P11. It has a very long trigger pull, which also serves the purpose of giving you time to think about what you’re shooting at, but the trigger is also what sets the hammer so you can dry fire all day without racking the slide. The solution was easy all I had to do was practice to get a better feel for when the trigger engages. The problem was that with it being such a small lightweight handgun at 22 ounces fully loaded, it can kick a little when using higher load ammo, so I was anticipating recoil improperly. At first I thought that it was an issue with the feed ramp on the barrel and tried to do some at home gun smithing with a Dremmel tool with unsuccessful results I’ll cover in another article. The other issue is “limp wristed” failure to feeds.

Those who did get one, like myself, took ownership of one of the best conceal carry handguns in history. Many people didn’t take it seriously, possibly because Kel-Tec doesn’t have the stellar reputation of Glock or Sig Sauer, even though it came with a lifetime warranty. When it was released in 1995 with a retail of about $200, it wasn’t necessarily a hit. While getting ready to write an article on the best concealed carry pistols available, my mind wandered back to the now discontinued Kel-Tec P11. The P11 Was A Whole Lot More Than You Think
